Pricing
Two ways to pay, one set of rates: a prepaid credit pool included with every plan, and postpaid infrastructure billing you switch on when production workloads need to keep running no matter what.

Credit pool
- Your plan price becomes your monthly pool — AI inference, functions, auth, KV, events and other platform services draw from it.
- Pool empty? Read access continues, nothing is charged. Overage is opt-in, with a spending cap you set.
- Best for trying the platform, side projects, and predictable monthly spend.
Infrastructure billing
- Add a payment method and enable it for the infrastructure you use: managed databases, object storage, containers, compute, builds & registry, analytics.
- Metered at the same published per-unit rates below, invoiced monthly — no pool top-ups to babysit.
- Production workloads keep running even when your credit pool is empty — infrastructure never stops because a pool drained.
Enterprise
Custom pricing, unlimited everything, dedicated support, SSO/SAML, custom contracts and data processing agreements.

Service rates
One rate card for both modes: pool services draw from your credits, infrastructure services bill postpaid once infrastructure billing is on — same per-unit prices either way.
Competitor figures are public list prices as of June 2026, shown for comparison only. Verify current pricing with each provider.
AI model pricing
Credits deducted from your pool per 1M tokens. 1 credit = 1 cent.
How the credit pool works
Choose a plan
Your plan price becomes your monthly credit pool. Pro = $49/mo = 4,900 credits.
Use any service
Database queries, AI calls, function invocations, storage — all draw from the same pool.
Set a cap
Overage billing is opt-in. You set your own spending cap before enabling it — usage stops at your limit, adjustable anytime.
Pool refills monthly
Credits refill at the start of each billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over.
Frequently asked questions
What happens when my credit pool runs out?
Overage billing is off by default: when your credits run out, your account switches to read-only and nothing more is charged. On any paid plan you can opt in from the console, after first setting a monthly spending cap, and usage then continues at the same per-unit rates. The cap is a hard limit you can adjust anytime — once you reach it, requests are rejected until the next cycle or a cap increase.
What is infrastructure billing and when should I turn it on?
Infrastructure billing is the postpaid mode for production infrastructure — managed databases, object storage, containers, compute, builds and registry, analytics. You enable it per organization with a payment method; usage is metered at the published per-unit rates and invoiced monthly. Once enabled, those services keep running even if your credit pool hits zero, so production never stops because a pool drained. Turn it on when you deploy something that must not pause.
Can I change plans mid-cycle?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated credits. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle.
Do unused credits roll over?
No. Paid-plan credit pools refill at the start of each billing cycle. The Free plan includes a one-time $1 trial credit rather than a monthly refill. This keeps pricing simple and predictable.
What currency am I billed in?
India: INR via Razorpay. Everywhere else: USD via Stripe. Currency is auto-detected at signup from your IP.
Is there a free trial?
The Free plan includes $1 (100 credits) trial credit. No credit card required. Enough to try every service.
How does AI model pricing work?
Each Scalix model has a per-token credit rate, deducted from your pool in real-time. 1 credit = 1 cent. The Lumio Lite model is free up to 1M tokens per month, then 15 credits per 1M input tokens. More capable models (Lumio Pro and Candela) are coming soon — their rates will be published at launch. The full catalog and live rates are always in the console.
Earn bonus credits
Coming soonWe're rolling out bonus credits for quick actions — verifying your email, starring the GitHub repo, joining the Discord, and following Scalix on social. Up to $4.75 in extra credits on top of your $1 trial credit, granted automatically in the console once the program goes live.
